It’s never easy to say goodbye to a legend—but today we do just that.

Rare Designer, the co-founder and original creative force behind Rare Apepes, has OFFICIALLY RETIRED from the Web3 world, leaving behind a legacy that shaped not just a collection, but an entire culture.

His journey began with digital Pepe art on Bitcoin, where he was a pivotal contributor to the Rare Pepe project on Counterparty. From there, he co-founded & created the protype idea for the Rare Apepes in October 2021, blending Bored Ape traits with Pepe’s cultural lineage into something greater: a living, breathing memetic brand with its own expanding universe.

Every collection, every character, every detail has provenance. Every mint has meaning. And none of it would exist without him.

As of now, the persona known as Rare Designer is officially gone. But his art remains timeless.

To the community: it is now up to us to carry this legacy forward. To build, to meme, to dream. The Rare Apepes Memetic Universe (R.A.M.U.) is alive—because he gave it soul.

So today, we don’t just say goodbye. We say thank you.

We thank Rare Designer for laying the foundation.

We honor the trust he placed in our community.

And we promise to keep building.

🕊️ Rest in peace, Rare Designer. His art lives on forever in the pond, and his legacy is woven into blockchain history.
